Laser and Pulsed Light Procedures
What is laser ?
LASER: It is an acronym for Light Amplified by Stimulation Emission of Radiation. A laser produces a beam of highly concentrated light. In general, all medical lasers use the principal of selective phototermolysis, which means getting the right amount of the right wavelength of laser energy to the right tissue to damage or destroy only that tissue, and nothing else.
Laser has been approved by the FDA for treatment of hair removal, leg and face vein treatment, tattoo removal, acne treatment, wrinkle reduction, facial rejuvenation and skin resurfacing.
The Aesthetic and Wellness Center has the Aramis from Quantel Medical. It is a non-invasive, non-ablative laser for treatment of acne and wrinkle reduction.
What is Pulsed Light System/IPL?
Intense Pulse Light or Pulsed Light technology is a non-laser device that has been approved by the FDA for treatment of sun damage skin, rosacea, and facial veins, brown spots on the face, neck and hair removal. This system also reduces the appearance of mild acne scars, dark circles around the eyes, and to reduce fine lines around the eyes and mouth.
The Aesthetic and Wellness Center offers the best Pulsed Light Technology System “Clareon” from Novalis Medical. This system is a non-abrasive, non-invasive gentle pulsed light that targets and destroys unwanted blood vessels, hair and pigmented discolorations without harming normal skin.
Using a cold gel applied to the area to be treated, the handpiece is gently applied to your skin as pulses of light are emitted. Usually, 3 to 6 treatments are required, lasting about 30 minutes depending on the size of the area treated.
There is no recuperation time necessary. With an IPL FotoFacial you can return to work the same day or resume your normal activities. There is no disruption to your active lifestyle. You will notice a gradual, yet natural, looking improvement providing you with outstanding results
